EOC/SEDG

Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) & Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell

Purpose: The EOC & SEDG Cell ensures an inclusive, barrier-free, and discrimination-free campus for all students—especially Divyangjan (PwD), women, and socio-economically disadvantaged learners—through policy, support services, and continuous monitoring.

1) Committee Composition, Roles & Meeting Cadence

Committee (2025–26)

  • Chairperson: Principal
  • Convenor / EOC Officer: Registrar
  • Members:
    • Faculty representatives (at least one woman faculty)
    • SGRC representative (Students’ Grievance Redressal Committee)
    • ICC representative (Internal Complaints Committee)
    • NSS Programme Officer
    • NGO Representative
    • Student representatives (Diploma, UG & PG)

Roles:

  • Frame and update inclusive policies; coordinate accessibility, counselling, scholarships, and grievance processes.
  • Conduct awareness programs on rights, inclusivity, and support systems.
  • Maintain proactive disclosures (policies, minutes, reports) on the college website.

Meeting Cadence:

  • Quarterly meetings (minimum): November, February, April, and August; extraordinary meetings as needed. (bcrcp.ac.in)

2) Accessibility Initiatives (Campus & Digital)

Campus Infrastructure

  • Ramps & Lifts: Available at academic buildings and hostels, accessible washrooms, signage, guided mobility.
  • Exam accommodations: Extra time and assistive options per UGC/DEPwD guidelines.

Digital Access

Scribe & Exam Support (Policy Highlights)

  • Scribe/assistance & compensatory time for eligible PwD candidates as per DEPwD guidelines (minimum +20 minutes per hour). depwd.gov.in

3) Counselling, Scholarships & Complaint Process

Counselling (On-Campus)

Scholarships / Financial Aid

Complaint Process (with Anonymous Option)

  • Step-1: Submit complaint to the Principal or EOC & SEDG Cell.
  • Step-2: Case acknowledgement; preliminary assessment within 7 working days.
