About Library:

The Acharya J. C. Bose Central Library of Dr. B. C. Roy College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences was set up in 2005 to support the teaching-learning process in the College, and since then the Library has been consistently making efforts to develop a strong collection of learning resources and to provide access to knowledge through its services.

The Central library is a collection of Textbooks, Reference Books, Journals, CD ROM / DVDs as well as e-learning facilities. At present library has a vast collection of books consisting of 16746+ volumes, 2031+ Titles, 30 Print Journals (National & International), 389 e-journals through DELNET, and 527 e-journals through Infotrac Pharmacy Collection (IPC). The Library also provides access to open-access e-journals through its web portal. Central Library is a member of the National Digital Library of India (NDLI). Reprography and Document Scanning facility is also available in the Library.

The Library has made significant strides in terms of integrating ICT and information services; the library is using Integrated Library Management Software KOHA 23.11 for its housekeeping and other activities. OPAC of ILMS is also available on the College intranet for searching books in the Library. OPAC also provides the users with a glance at books Available, Issued, Referenced, and new books added to the collection which helps users to issue the correct book when required.

Library Services:  Circulation, Book Bank, Internet facility, CD Rom Access, Print Journals & Magazines, E-Journals, Reprography, Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), Repository of Question Paper and Syllabus, Reading Room facility,  National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), Current Awareness Services, Display of New Arrivals.

Library Automation: The library is using Integrated Library Management Software KOHA 23.11 for its housekeeping and other activities.

Library Hours:

Monday to Friday: 9.30 am to 5.30 pm Saturday, Sunday & Holidays: Closed

Circulation Privilege:

The members are to produce their Bar-coded user ID card for any transaction in the Library. 

Students can borrow maximum  6 books (2 GB + 4 BB) at a time depending on the availability of the same in the library for 30 days, which can be further renewed for a maximum period of another 30 days. Book Bank (BB) books are issued ones for one semester.
All teaching staff including Librarian is allowed to lend maximum 6 books from the library for one Semester.
The administrative staff members, library staff, laboratory assistants are allowed to borrow not more than 3 books at a time for one Semester.
