Dr. B. C. Roy College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, Bidhannagar, Durgapur introduced the Billing and Inventory Control System in its own Prime Minister Bharatia Janaushadhi Kendra on the 4th of December, 2020. The facility was flagged off by Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya, General Secretary, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College and Group of Institutions in the presence of Dr. Subrata Chakraborty, Director, Dr. B. C. Roy college of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Pijush Pal Roy, Director, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Dr. Subhabrata Roy, Principal, Dr. B. C. Roy College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Arindam Chakraborty, Principal, Dr. B. C. Roy Polytechnic, Mr. Amitava Chakraborty, Chief, Corporate Affairs of the Group and other dignitaries and faculties of the group institutions, Amitava Ghosh, Shouvick Chandra, Development Manager and Sr. Manager, PR of the group respectively.
Dr. B. C. Roy College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences is the only pharmaceutical institution in West Bengal which is running a medicine store like PMJK which was said by the Director of the college, Dr. Subrata Chakraborty in his speech welcoming the guests. He mentioned that 600 medicines and 154 surgical equipment have been made available in price 5 – 10 times less than the general market. Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya said in his inaugural speech that though the management was apprehensive about the success of the project of the Janaaushadhi Kendra initially, it had now become so popular in the locality that the digitalisation became very necessary for the medicine centre to accommodate the huge number of customers. He thanked the college authority for acquiring NBA for B. Pharm. and one in hundred rank in NIRF this year, as well as running a medicine centre for the local poor and middle class community coming out of the barrier of four walls of pedagogy. Dr. Pijush pal Roy, Director, Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College said that the team work and fraternity among the members of the college has been helping the college to grow in such a magnitude in spite of this corona pandemic situation. Also, a noteworthy incidence would be that all seats of B. Pharm. M. Pharm. D. Pharm. in this college have been filled up this year as well.
